Alicia Brown

Director of Clinical Relations

Alicia comes to BNI Treatment after spending 3 years as the director of admissions at Ascend Healthcare, and two years as the director of Clinical Outreach at Key Healthcare. Alicia has worked directly with the families of struggling teens to help them find support and appropriate placement, and more recently has focused on outreach in the therapeutic community both locally and nationally. Her passion is in relationship building and connection, so that ultimately families and the professionals who support them can be connected to the relevant programs that can help their teen find their path to wellness. Prior to her career in adolescent mental health treatment, Alicia spent 5 years in Australia serving as the department head of an entertainment business bachelor’s degree at an arts college. While simultaneously studying for her MA in writing and literature, Alicia taught professional writing, critical thinking and music business. While at the helm of the department, Alicia also provided career counselling to graduating students and spearheaded the college’s internship program. Through this work she found that as she placed students in internships and jobs, their mental health and emotional wellbeing were often a large indicator for their success and fulfilment. A drive to help the students who were struggling the most in this arena ultimately led her to her current career in adolescent mental health. In a former life, Alicia spent nearly a decade as a celebrity assistant and then a talent manager in the entertainment industry, working closely with A list talent in both music and film/TV. Alicia studied psychology at UC Boulder, and communications at Miami University (where she earned a BS). She is also a certified holistic health coach, with a passion for health and wellness.
